The best laid plans…
Must! Write! More! Frequently!
Hello folks! I’m in all sorts of happy places because a mere 12 hours from now I’ll be surprising my Mom by flying in for her birthday. Her birthday’s not until Monday but I’m staying until Tuesday, so it still works. That and she’ll totally be impressed by my new ability to fly.
Bad Date it was not!
I had the fortune of going to see “Bad Dates” with my friend Paulie last weekend and I really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the big fat tasty cow eaten at the Vortex before and the black-n-tans consumed at El Myr and the Yacht Club after. Let no one ever say Paulie’s a “Bad Date!”
I absolutely love live theater (theatre? whatever), especially in small venues like The Horizon. However, I never seem to go anymore. That’s going to be one of those attainable goals for 2007: more of this. Supporting the local arts. Getting some culture. Forgetting it all by talking it out over beers afterward. You know…the usual.
I also was blessed to be able to watch Phil terrorize little children at the Center (Centre? whatever) for Puppetry Arts.
Ahhh…a man after my own heart!
So, I just had a major freak out moment. This involved me trying to take a picture of myself right at this moment to put in this blog entry and apparently *breaking the camera.* Okay, not the camera but the memory card. All of a sudden, it couldn’t be read by the camera anymore. Cheeses! If that’s not an ego blow, I’m not sure what is.
Given the above mentioned trip is to occur in just mere hours, I thought: crap crap crap, I need to get another one of these and fast! So on went my shoes and jacket and off to the Wal*Mart I went for another one. 2x as large; apparently I can now hold over 500 photos, which really, is not unusual to take when photo strolling with my usual culprits.
Naturally, this could mean only one thing - ONLY ONE THING - in the world of Stacy. As soon as the new card is purchased, the old one starts working just fine. No problem. Of course. Panic drive to Wal*Mart completely unnecessary. I may just go ahead and keep the card anyway as a back-up….or to give to Paulie when I finally let him have his camera back again.
To make the most of being out though, I decided to stop in the next-door Kroger where I picked up lunch (chicken-bawk!), free shampoo (it rang up wrong) and this shot which totally makes me smile:
I turned around the corner to head down the shampoo aisle and a renegade balloon was cruising the aisle all by himself. AND he told me he loved me. Awwww.
Okay, now this was going to be a MUCH LONGER post but the impromptu store visit got in the way and my belly’s demanding I make some green bean casserole to go with the chicken-bawk! I just ate. (”When I say ‘chicken,’ you say ‘bawk!’ Chicken! Bawk!) HOWEVER, I do so hope I’ll get back into this blogging type thing and the next few days in cold snowy Wisconsin should help!
MWAH my lovelies!

You say “Cow”, I say “Mine!”

“Cow!”
“Mine!”
Hope you have much fun in Wisconsin (oh that almost rhymed).
Sorry to hear about the trouble with the memory card. :(
You are quite the fun date as well. I look forward to joining you at the theatre (theater) many times more.
February 15th, 2007 at 6:36 pmI’m thinking you’ve been hitting the caffiene, my dear!
I hope it works out that I get to see you this weekend - either Saturday later in the day or Sunday around lunchish??? (lunchish!)
Call me!
Love you!
February 15th, 2007 at 8:22 pm@Phil: BAHAHAHAHA! :) Speaking of: not too many hanging out around here. Too cold to be outside!
@Paulie: No worries about the memory card…total user error, that’s all!
