It’s a gorgeous day!

Posted in: Uncategorized

No…I mean it.

Okay, sure it’s rainy and a 20 minute drive to work took me an hour because THESE FOOLS CAN’T DRIVE IN THE RAIN, but it’s gorgeous out.  Warm!  And the rain smells wonderful.  It’s already nearing 60 degrees and I’m hearing rumors of 70 by the weekend.

So it’s a gorgeous gorgeous day. :)

That and I started the day out perfectly!   Tasty tasty coffee packet.  The first day in my new robe (ohhhh that could cause a problem, though. It was very very hard to get out of it again).  Oh! And my clothes still fit!  After eating like a robin cow for the entire past week at home I thought for sure I’d have to shoehorn myself back into my work clothes today.  Nope!  Oh joy!   (it’s the little things, you see…)

It is also Day 1 of Lent, Ash Wednesday for you Christian folks.    Which means I’m going to use it as my 40-day diet plan (just what Christ intended, huh?) of no-carb goodness.   Last night we ended Mardi Gras with a bang by devouring a veggie pizza from Papa John’s and slurping down a 12-pack of beer.  It.Was.Fabulous.   It is going to be exactly what we reward ourselves with 40 days from now again.  Er, for Easter dinner…. um, well. We might do it on day 41.  Gotta do the ham and the rolls and the butter shaped like a little lamb for Easter.

In any case, so that there’s my goal!  “Fat Fridays” are out these next few weeks as Stage 1 of South Beach begins TODAY.  Mmmm.  Bring on the beef!!  Yeah, i know an entire journal entry about my eating plan isn’t all that thrilling  (or, more accurately: isn’t at ALL thrilling), but I’m sticking it here to keep me honest.    And I know I just got done saying I still fit into my clothes….but still.  This year’s the year for a new swimsuit, so bring it on!    After two weeks, I’ll also add back in the brewskies.   Seriously, whoever put St. Patrick’s Day in the middle of Lent is evil.

    It must be the all time we spent shut in last week up north. I’ve been taking deep breaths and enjoying the fresh, warm air like I’ve just been released from prison. Maybe it is the moisture in the air, I forgot how dry that super cold air gets.

    It’s good to be back!!

    Oh that’s right! You travelled too, didn’t you? What was it — Ohio? Isn’t it amazing how this same weather when we left was really really cold…and now it’s just gorgeous. :-) I mean, if it were a hashing day, I might acutally go! (and that’s saying a lot from a “warm weather hasher”)

    oh no you didn’t!!!

    Indiana actually but there isn’t much difference.

    I’ll remember what you said when Saturday rolls around and it is in the 60s.

    @Martha: LOL! And I even heard close to 70! Of course, I just swore off beer for 2 weeks…my planning kinda sucks, doesn’t it?

    @Phil: Are you oh no-ing what I think you’re oh no-ing? :) I blame you!
