Just a little me update.

Posted in: Uncategorized

Day 2 of no-carb goodness and I’m still doing well!  This despite the invitation of a friend to head out for a few drinks with a group last night….last night in gorgeous 65 degree weather, might I add?  But, no: I was a good girl.  Ate me a ham and cheese omelet with spinach pancakes and sour cream for dinner instead.   Now I’m muchin’ on some hard boiled eggs. Mmmm is my life ever exciting or what?

Other exciting bits and parts about me:

My least favorite time of the day is the time between turning off the warm shower and getting into my robe.  Those 10-15 seconds of stepping out into the cool air and drying off kill me each morning.

However, I soon forget about them when wrapped up in my warm fuzzy robe and add the mandatory 10 minutes of hair-drying to that? I’m all kitty cozy again in no time.  So I’m going to liken in to childbirth (to the chagrin of all my mommy friends, I’m sure):  those few moments of pain are forgotten for the pleasure received afterward.

Not that a baby would be pleasure for me.  Nor for the baby, for that matter.  Okay, so it’s not really like comparing it to childbirth at all.  But you get where I was going with that.

My new shampoo de jour, or really, de la semaine (as, yes, I really do switch shampoos and conditioners weekly) is Burt’s Bee’s Raspberry and Brazil Nut stuff.  Since I currently don’t use any other product in my hair (gel, hairspray, etc.), my hair smells all raspberry goodness right now.  Why is this important?   It’s not.   But it makes me forget those aforementioned 10-15 seconds quite nicely. :)

Oh, and of course I do not speak French.  Had to look that one up.

I do, however, have to fall asleep with one foot out of the blankets (how that has anything to do with the French you decide).   I call it “my regulator.”    As in, I crawl into bed each night and curl up with my book but as soon as I get a little warm and sleepy, my regulator’s gotta come out.

Though it helps me to fall asleep, unfortunately it does not help keep me asleep — something that would be much much appreciated when the cats start terrorizing each other (and myself) at 2 in the morning.  I almost strung them up last night.  You’d have thought with getting used to Mom’s alarm clocks, I’d be okay with this by now.  Um, nope.

And finally, speaking of mornings?  It was LIGHT when I left at 7am for work today! Woo and a hoo!  AND WARM.  And don’t forget Daylight Saving’s begins in just a few short weeks.  Yay! Even lighter! And warmer!  And all kinds of goodness!

Okay, now I’m just getting silly.  Off to work and my third cup of joe…  MWAH!
