Bouncy Things
Well, good morning dear readers!
I got to work unnaturally early this morning but am actually awake. There’s a reason for this. Is there a difference between really really liking coffee and being addicted to it? Because I am on cup #4 right now but I never thought I was addicted, just someone who’s always thought it was really, really yummy. If I were addicted, it wouldn’t give me a buzz, right? Or, at the very least, take more to give me a buzz? That’s going to be my theory so I don’t have to stop drinking it (yes, it still gives me that pleasant face-the-day kind of buzz).
Me, at my desk this morning shortly after 7am and on cup #3:
The commute to work made me think of the commute the other day. Did anyone hear about the poor truck that lost toilet paper all over I-285 on Monday? I had heard the traffic report that morning saying these things were bouncing all over the interestate near Ashford-Dunwoody, but I never caught whether it was east bound or west bound. On the way home, I figured it out. :-) There were rolls and rolls of toilet paper still all up along the median wall and way over in the right lane/shoulder. And for some reason it just still simply Cracks. Me. Up. Just the mental images of single rolls bouncing around between cars, off windshields, maybe landing in a flatbed or two… I dunno. It’s FUNNY.
So last night, we DID make use of the cleaned-up deck by eating outside.
P1 decided to cook up his yummy black bean lasagna roll-ups and P2 and another friend Tory (who I’m not sure has a blog?) came by for dinner. Most outstanding and my compliments to the chef. More important last night is that P2 will finally be able to wash his hair again, as he finally has managed to collect the things he left at our place, including his new bottle of shampoo, oh…. months ago now? (okay, I exaggerate: A month ago. But still, not washing your hair in a month is pretty gross.) ;-)
Speaking of hair, with the new season comes a new change in color again, of course! I’ve settled back with my good ol’ standby from years gone by: Rosewood. It’s obnoxious. It’s this reddish brown that’s not really found in nature…but the obnoxious part only sticks around for a few days, is really only obviously obnoxious in the sun, and then after a few days it’ll look good. Really. The photo above was an attempt to get a picture of the new color but the lighting in the office is so bad (not to mention it’s from the camera phone) that, eh, not so much…
Okay, kids, off to really start the day now — MWAH! Good ones to ya all!

Thank you Thank you Thank you! I noticed them Tuesday, laughing so hard pondering the story. I even counted the TP rolls along the left side median heading EB and have been very curious each day to see if any have been picked up. Now I understand. Thanks for the newscast. I thought it was quite humorous myself! :-) xoxoxo
April 26th, 2007 at 8:48 amI know, right? I STILL giggle thinking about it! I guess it’s good I didn’t see it in person (I can just imagine the havoc that could have caused, people swerving to avoid soft paper rolls but smashing into each others’ cars), but it would have been fun to watch from a safe distance.
And yay!! Welcome to my blog, sweetpea! :)
April 26th, 2007 at 11:10 amwhere’s the pic? That was a nice one… wait, I see it on the little flicker thing-a-ma-bopie now…
April 27th, 2007 at 6:34 amYou know what, Gentri? I have no idea! It’s been saying the image is unavailable since last night, but when I click on it (or look at it on the thing-a-ma-bopie -nice word!), it still opens. I suppose I should just go edit the link in the entry, but I’m lazy enough to try to let it work out for itself.
I do say I’ve never seen that message before. Huh.
