Sex and music…mmmm!
Posted in: Adventures in my own head
I’ve always believed that in the big ol’ world of music, many songs can be classified into three groups:
1) those you make love to,
2) those you have sex to,
and
3) those you fuck to (ah shoot! pardon my french….oh wow! I speak french?! I never knew!).
So, given those categories, there are many many that fall into one or the other. Here’s my top one of each:
A song you make love to:
“Wrapped Around Your Finger,” The Police.
A song you have sex to:
“The Chauffer,” Duran Duran
A song you fuck to: (again, French is such a crude language, is it not?)
“Closer,” Nine Inch Nails
The one and only song that fits all three cateogries?? (Take note, folks! Every woman I’ve mentioned this to agrees with me!)
“Father Figure,” by George Michael.
What be yours?

I’m so with you on the Nine Inch Nails song!!
June 27th, 2007 at 8:50 pmI need to think about the others & get back to you though…
Oh yeah…and I’ll send you a copy of The Chauffer if you need it, dear. Rob will love me for life if I do. ;-)
June 27th, 2007 at 9:14 pmFor some reason Van Halen’s ‘Right Now’ always puts me in the mood. I think it has something to due with the tall, strapping guy I dated in college.
Another winner from my stable of men would be the guy that considered “F*$k You Like An Animal” to be our song.
Lastly was the guy that always played classical music…I still get the willies when I think about that one.
June 28th, 2007 at 7:25 amOh you forgot the song to have angry, revenge sex to…”You Oughta Know” by Alanis Morissette
June 28th, 2007 at 7:27 amFor making love, my usual choice would always be just about anything by Bryan Ferry (or latter albums by Roxy Music). Avalon is a perfect example. For having sex, I’d go with most any album by Prince.
For fucking, I’d go with the soundtrack to whatever porn we’ve got playing… :)
June 28th, 2007 at 2:35 pm@Martha: okay, I can totally see that (about “Right Now”). I would have to put it in the “sex” category (not having a story behind it like you do) — but I totally agree how even the silliest most unexpected songs have relevance based on a past experience! :)
“You Oughta Know” — never thought about that one! But I can see that too!
@Perry: I do not know Bryan Ferry!! I’m definitely going to have to Google/iTunes him. “Avalon” is the song?
And LOL! There are soundtracks to porn?? (Bum-shicka-bow-wow!) Shoot, next thing you’re going to tell me is they have *plots* too.
June 28th, 2007 at 3:27 pmBryan Ferry, who was the lead singer for Roxy Music, was awesome in the 70’s and early 80’s. The stuff they did led directly to most of the new wave bands in the 80’s. Avalon is the song and also the name of the album. You’ll recognize it when you hear it.
And some porn may indeed have plots, but I just fast-forward to the good stuff… :)
June 28th, 2007 at 4:12 pmProbably the worst music/sex combination I ever experienced was the soundtrack to The Music Man. To this day, the song “Gary, Indiana” makes me want to scream…and not in a good way.
June 30th, 2007 at 4:32 pmLOL! Gary Indiana Gary Indiana Gary Indiana! And, oh, growing up where I did, I’ve been through there many a time….I can’t imagine it EVER being a good thing!
