As Seville Turns…or, Days of Our Seville Lives…or, Passions!

Okay, the Passions thing is a joke.

But, seriously, there has been so much drama in our neighborhood lately that it should be a soap opera! Car thefts, break-ins, yard lefts, etc. Don’t even get me going on the once-drug-house on the corner. [It’s now fixed up and clean but some tree hugger in the neighborhood is pissed that they’re cutting down crappy wimpy pine trees and not replanting any. I’ve offered to plant them in the middle of her driveway if she wants!]Too bad! So sad!Tree down!

Anyhow, last Friday, we all came home to no power, no cable, no nothing. Because of the drought, a neighbor’s tree ended up falling and crashing down over all those power lines. Thank God no one or no property was hurt! That, and it gave the neighbors a chance to congregate, chat, throw off their prior plans and just hang out and fix cocktails and play games. Not such a bad thing after all….and, honestly, none of the drama that comes with REAL soap operas. We’ll try to work on that. :-)

  1. Paulie [eatl/ga] Says:

Hey, pine trees were here before humans. We should respect that!

    Best Regards,
    Drunken (but still right) Paulie

  2. Stacy Says:

Not these little wimpy ones! These little wimpy ones are the ones that come crashing through your roof during storms. And we apparently have enough trees just falling in the ‘hood.

Speaking of Drunken Paulies (wow. cool band name), I almost made it across the street last night to say hello. I was with a friend over at Highland Tap; just couldn’t get my butt over to George’s though. D’oh!

  3. Martha Says:

Paulie, if we stop cutting down trees how will we ever keep having beautiful summers like this one? We might not have 3 weeks of 100+ degree days. JK

Stacy, shame on you not poping over to say hello! Maybe I’ll see you next week?

  4. Stacy Says:

At trivia, you’ll see mefor sure — after all I heard this week, I’m comin’ back! :) (and sharing that $50 prize! hee!)

And the drive to the Highlands isn’t that bad, either. Maybe now that it’s not so hot anymore I need to get outside to walk or run. I haven’t been to George’s in ages. Maybe it’s time I start again!
