Why, that’s some Tasty China!

Though, technically, we ate the food and not the dinnerware. Tasty China blog only

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Barb and Allen for lunch today, she being of the ever-so-kind nature to offer to help me learn my way around my new work-town neighborhoods. That’d be Marietta for y’all still out of the loop - ha! Marietta loop! I didn’t even think about that when I wrote that. Okay, I’m a geek. In any case, in that I had to take baby steps, a first small venture called for lunch and where else could we go but the Tasty China? We got there within minutes of each other (joy!), but if it weren’t for an astute wife’s knowledge of her husband’s listening skills (or, er, retention skills! that’s it!), he might still be sitting at the China Buffet to this very minute. Luckily we avoided a crisis and guided him safely in. After all, our place at least promised to be Tasty.
Now, some of you may remember said Tasty China from the delightful write-up by another blogger we all know and love (the ITP). I tried to link directly to his post that day but am an idiot blogger (unlike him) so I can only tell you it was May 17th of this year. (Go stalk!) His comments are much better than anything I could have written and, as I did not try to BYOB at lunch, he had much more amusing stories to tell as well.
Speaking of? Sure enough: Right there on the menu were said NUMBING beef rolls. Hot and Numbing! blog onlyI was not brave enough to try said rolls (that and I DID need to go back to work and actually talk to people; something probably difficult with a numb mouth, I would think), but, hey! Baby steps! Next time, I just may. Just watch me!

You know, I’m beginning to rethink this whole “OTP is BAD!” philosophy. There actually IS stuff to do out there! And the more Barb mentioned other cool folks who live/work nearby, good restaurants, and - most importantly - good dive bars (!!), I might just have to spend a little more time up there after work in the evenings.

Thanks again to Barb and Allen for meeting me and to the vegetables (”baby corn!”) and chicken for growing up so tasty! Any other Marietta-ers (ites?) want to join the Marietta Luncheon Club, give us a holler!*

(*no, there’s really no Marietta Luncheon Club, unlike said “little baby corn-ers” or whatever the heck that group is. But we do like to eat food, so if you do, too, that’s about it.)

Time to make me some dinner….After all, it was Chinese. Hungry again!

MWAH!!

Hey you! Now that I’m blackberry-less, I don’t get online as much and I was quite behind on my reading…sounds like you’re doing well! We may actually have to go back to communicating by telephone or actual emails again - I miss you so much!
