Today’s bounciness brought to you one again by the ‘bou.
This time I tried the Northside Drive-ish/West Paces Ferry Caribou. It was much more easy to navigate off and back on I-75 than I had thought it was going to be. A couple things did strike me as odd me being old.
1) The amount of teenagers in the store amazed me. Did you drink coffee when you were a teenager? I don’t know why, but this amazes me. I guess I always heard that tale of “it’ll stunt your growth” (it being caffiene) or something. That it was an “adult drink.” Heh. Until I learned what real adult drinks were, of course. In any case, I can’t imagine letting my 15 year old sit around drinking coffee in the morning before school. I don’t know why, but it just seems wrong. Guess that’s the old-fashioned in me.
2) Is it just me, or is anyone else tired of these cute little coffee names they call out when you order a drink? Please: I ordered a regular large coffee with a shot of espresso in it. They called it something like large “capped.” Huh? I what the heck? Assuming it was mine (as only a couple of us were waiting for our beverage), I actually had to ask him what that was. He explained it meant it had an extra shot of something in it, like my shot of espresso. Okay. You know, next time if you just SAY that….
All that whining aside, it was a pleasant experience, my coffee is fantastic
and coupled with these lovely little pieces of heaven a cow-orker [sic] was sweet enough to bring me for helping when she was on vacation last week, I think it’s going to be a very fine morning indeed. At least the day’s off to a good start!
Aside note: Any of you in the Midtown area tonight and want to come by for a little trivia, we’ll be at the Charlie G’s right there on Peachtree. Or is it West Peachtree? It’s one of the Peachtrees. :-) Hope to see yas!
I didn’t start drinking coffee until I was thirty-one.
Why?
1) Until that age I didn’t *need* coffee. I was always peppy.
2) Back then fancy coffee was fairly crappy.
3) I learned that if I drank it black it had zero calories. That appealed to me.
One of the benefits of being a coffee drinker is now I can ask the waitress to “top it off” when I am in a diner.
September 18th, 2007 at 5:48 amExcellent! Just as I can ask a waiter to “fill ‘er up.”
Heh heh. I’m just not right in the head. :-)
September 18th, 2007 at 6:10 amI’ll have a decaf latte no fat, moosed please. Moosed = extra shot!
