Things be crazy busy
And it’s a good thing. :) This week finds many adventures to be had, the first of which kept me OTP after work yesterday — and I didn’t even mind it! :)
I was to meet some friends from my old work place at El Azteca on Roswell but when one was, unfortunately, not feeling well, the locale was switched to a place more convenient for those remaining. Those being TWO of us. Of course, that count didn’t last long in that one quick email to Barb had her joining Dan and I at the Wild Wings Café in, er, Marietta? Is that where we were?
And
I like this place! First, it had separated smoking and non-smoking rooms, which was very cool and I’m certain keeps many folks from bitching. Second, this 24oz. Beer? $4. Can’t sneeze at that. After that, I also had 4 mini-samplers of beers (which were pretty decent-sized!): you got to choose which four you wanted for $5.95 or something like that. I chose by how cute the taps were (the doggie was realllly cute, afterall). It was all most tasty (as was the pumpkin whatever brew we sampled, too). Unfortunately, I had to head out more sooner than later because of the drive ahead of me. I said hi and bye to Allen in passing as he showed up just as I was leaving. It occurred to me this morning (Lord knows why) that the folks I left behind were now BAD (er…as in their initials) so it probably was a good idea I left when I did. They could’ve gotten me into some BAD trouble.
Okay, I’m kidding. But, seriously, I’m re-thinking this OTP being so evil. There’s so much more up this direction than I had realized and the drive home was not horrible at all. I most definitely like this side of town better than any other when it comes to being OTP. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s all fresh and new to me (compared to the 85 or 400 areas) or if it really just does have a better aura to it. Either way, the folks I met up with last night were most fun and it was a very good time. One of those weird occasions when “two worlds meet”: cow-orkers [sic] and hashers who knew each other all along. (Though an ex cow-orker, so that’s okay!) I wish I hadn’t had to leave so early and fully intend to coerce them into doing this again on a non-school night.
Now, the only disappointment I felt when I got home later that night was of my own doing: why the hell hadn’t I ordered wings?? I am craving them so much now (one of those ideas that gets into your head and will NOT go away until you do something about it) that I know exactly what I’ll be eating with the Donkey Punch gang at Charlie G’s this evening.
So, yes! It’s off to Charlie G’s again this evening for trivia and tomorrow there’s the event at Martha’s. I’m not sure if it’s a surprise thing or not, so I won’t go into it here and will just describe it after the fact (Not that the guest of honor reads this anyway!). Since it’s the Third Thursday of the month, we should be having a dinner party on Thursday and Friday I’ve been invited to go a-Junglin’ but I’m thinking come Friday? It’s time to sit in instead. After all, my books did just come in at the library. :)
Yes, it is a suprise…we’ve just managed to line up another one. I’ll tell you about it tonight.
