Squirrels and Chickens - yum.
Posted in: Adventures 'round town
As always, my very good intentions of keeping this blog updated have fallen to the wayside of work and play. Work: alternately rewarding and frustrating, and play, alternately exhilarating and scarce.
Today will be another day crammed with both: I’ve been at work since 7am already, but am also leaving about 4pm to meet some friends to go play. Tonight, Rex, A., L. and I will be heading down to the big metropolis of Madison, Georgia, to see the band Squirrelheads
play out on the town green. A free concert (”bring your coolers!”), I’d seen them play once before up in Marietta. A friend at work’s friend actually is in the band and so I gave him a heads up that we’ll be coming to see him. His response? “From Woodstock? Man, y’all are some squirrels in search of some nuts to come from that far!” I explained my “Monroe home” is much closer. I’m really looking forward to it tonight so, folks, pray for no rain for us! If you are reading from the greater Madison area (HA!), feel free to join us, too. I hear there will be fried chicken. :)
Speaking of the chicken, since I’m finally going to be Out East again, I’m probably going to crave the Chick-fil-A stop in tomorrow morning again, too. You know from the last entry how the folks at the Chick are starting to know us? Well, apparently they also named us. The sweet little woman who helps us in the drive-thru actually told us on our last stop that she calls us “the love birds.” Oh now, come ON. How sick are we? Yeah, yeah, I love it.
Speaking of love….As much as I love a pedicure, I think I’ll have to pass on this technique.
And now it’s back to work so I CAN leave when I want to. I have finally remembered to bring my camera (as well as spare battery and charger) with me so I can take pictures out and around Monroe and Madison, which are both supposed to be adorable and historical and, from the one cemetery I’ve managed a glimpse at, photo-worthy. So hopefully the next time I blog is (very soon) and chock full of the adventures and photos of this weekend. MWAH and happy Thursdays to y’all!
