I’m in love
…with a sandwich. :) I found these on the way to work this morning. Well, found probably isn’t the right word. It’s not like they were wandering around in the street looking for a belly or anything. But they were right there in the Kroger frozen food case and somehow managed to call to me from across the store. It worked. My only purchase was these and a bottle of Diet Coke. Life is so much better when there’s breakfast.
Oh, and when there’s the Olympics. I love the Olympics. I eagerly awaited the start of the Today Show this morning, knowing I’d hear that music and see all the good little tidbits of the start of The Games. I also love their cute little mascots:
I mean, come ON. They’re cute!
From a lot of what I’ve been hearing, it seems almost fashionable to NOT like the Olympics, to not pay attention or care. Why is that? I don’t get that. I’ve even heard folks say things like, “Oh, when do they start again?” Have y’all been living under a rock? Poo on that. I love the Olympics, I’ll watch them, I’ll be following the medal count daily. Plus those little mascots are really, really cute. :-)
I tried those sandwiches, but I couldn’t get them to microwave right. The center was still frozen, and something was too done. I tried taking it all apart, but it still didn’t thrill me. How did you make it work?
August 8th, 2008 at 6:52 amAnd yes to the Olympics, and they are awesomely cute mascots. Watch for Allan’s dad being a bike mechanic for any cycling event. Maybe he will give me some of the cool official clothing when he gets back.
Use the “defrost” function on the nuker for about 90 seconds, then flip it on regular cooking high for another minute. (if you don’t have a defrost button, 50% power) Mine turned out perfectly. :) SmartOnes has one of these, too, that’s just as good that you don’t have to defrost.
Oh, I’m jealous of cool official Olympic clothing. Watch for Allan’s dad - lol! What would he look like?
August 8th, 2008 at 7:16 amYAY for the Olympics! I like the games and agree, how could one not know when they start?
August 9th, 2008 at 4:47 amWe’re not watching them - nor was I aware when they started - as our small wee protest against China and their horrible stance on human rights. China may not know or care that we are actively avoiding them, but we do.
And the tv is in storage while the house is on the market. 8-)
August 10th, 2008 at 10:06 pm@shell - Although I don’t personally understand how not watching the Olympics is a protest against China, I can still respect others for feeling that way and making that choice. But doesn’t that only work when they actually know when they start so they can actively make the effort to boycott?
The TV in storage…girl, I meant to tell you that the pictures of the new place look wonderful! Congrats and good-selling wishes are sent your way.
August 11th, 2008 at 5:08 amWE boycotted the Olympics by simply pretending they are happening this year. No merchandise purchased. No web links clicked. No commercials watched. No one will benefit from our attention. And that’s as far politically as I’m willing to go in someone else’s blog. 8-)
August 15th, 2008 at 9:42 pm@shell - what you did makes more sense in boycotting (at least to me). It’s more active than simply “just not watching.” Y’know?
And be political as you want, chica dear. :) If I get really upset, I just may have to come out and take it up with you in person!!
